The Play’s the Thing

Cassius and Hamlet is a literary medley of Julius Caesar, Titus Andronicus, and Hamlet mixed with original monologues, music, and movement exploring the phenomenon of “political burnout” following the 2016 US election and the resulting administration. The goal of the piece is to speak directly to members of the population who no longer feel that their voice is being heard and that they have no way to incite change in their community.

The final stage of the Knott Fellowship portion of this project will be a staged reading of the play in October. Later this spring, a full production will be put on through the Del Rey Player’s “Playscape: A Weekend of New Plays”.
